2026 Best Farmer and Best Poultry Farmer winners to receive sponsored Italy trips

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture, along with Mehak Company Limited and Covenant Farms, has unveiled international sponsorship packages for the 2026 Overall National Best Farmer and the National Best Poultry Farmer. These awards are part of the 42nd National Farmers’ Day Celebration. The award-winning farmers will embark on seven-day all-expenses-paid trips to Italy to learn about modern agricultural technologies, production systems, and innovative practices.

Mehak Company Limited will sponsor the Overall National Best Farmer and their spouse/partner, while Covenant Farms will sponsor the National Best Poultry Farmer. The poultry-focused programme will focus on modern poultry practices, sustainable production systems, and innovative approaches. The Ministry emphasized the shared commitment of the sponsors to recognize excellence, innovation, and resilience in Ghanaian agriculture.

The initiative aims to expose the country's outstanding farmers to modern farming technologies, processing innovations, and smart agricultural practices, supporting the government's agricultural modernization goals. The Ministry confirmed that Italy travel arrangements have been finalized with the Embassy of Italy, ensuring that the winners can participate in the international study and technical programs following their selection at the 2026 National Farmers’ Day celebration.

The Ministry thanked Mehak Company Limited and Covenant Farms for their support in making the National Farmers’ Day celebration a benchmark for private-sector involvement in agriculture.
