Trump threatens Iran with ‘hell’ while revealing ‘very good’ talks at UN

In a dramatic statement at the United Nations General Assembly, US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with "hell" while simultaneously disclosing fresh and promising talks between the two nations. The meeting between US and Iranian officials, which took place on the sidelines of the UN event, lasted for three hours and was described by Trump as "very good."

Just hours after announcing the talks, Trump reiterated his intention to either make a deal with Iran or "annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly." However, his address to the UN also showcased his perception of Iran as the primary security threat in the Middle East. He labeled Iran as the "number one sponsor of terror" and defended his decision to confront it militarily, emphasizing that the regime has been ruling by "bloodshed and mass murder" for 51 years.

Despite the harsh rhetoric, the talks held between US officials and their Iranian counterparts signaled a possible shift in the strained relations. The talks, held on Tuesday, included former business partner Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had met with Trump's roving envoy prior to the UN General Assembly.
