Triple Crown still within reach for Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez after big game in Seattle

Houston Astros slugger Yordan Alvarez made significant progress in his pursuit of a Triple Crown on Tuesday night. Despite still having a lot of work ahead of him, the AL MVP frontrunner notched a crucial win for his team in their 7-0 victory over the Seattle Mariners. Alvarez went 2 for 4, including his 41st home run of the season and adding three RBIs.

He drove in a run with a first-inning RBI single, was intentionally walked in the second, and then hit a powerful 386-foot homer in the eighth inning with a blistering 109.5 mph exit velocity. Houston first baseman Christian Walker marveled at Alvarez's consistency, saying, "He just seems to come through in every moment. He's dangerous at the plate right now."

Alvarez's performance proved vital for Houston, as they tied with the Texas Rangers atop the division with five games left in the regular season.
