South East commission unveils 200-hectare farm project in Enugu

The South East Development Commission has started building a 200-hectare integrated farm project in Nomeh Unataeze, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State. The project, part of the SEDC's South East Agro-Development Programme, aims to combine large-scale agricultural production with mechanization, processing, skills development, and market access.

Expected to create over 1,000 direct jobs upon completion, the initiative includes dairy farming, poultry, fisheries, greenhouse cultivation, fodder production, agro-processing, renewable energy, and practical agricultural training. The project, in partnership with the Enugu State Government, demonstrates how agriculture can be transformed into a coordinated economic activity driven by technology, mechanization, skills, and market linkages.
