Smith+Nephew launches pelvic plating system in U.S.

Smith+Nephew, a global medical technology company, introduced its EVOS PELVIC Plating System in the United States. The system targets pelvic and acetabular surgery, featuring pre-contoured plates for various areas of the pelvis and locking/non-locking utility plates. It includes a cannulated screw system and specialized instrumentation for surgical procedures.

Dr. Reza Firoozabadi, a design surgeon for the system, noted that the EVOS PELVIC System caters to injuries from simple to complex pelvic ring and acetabular fractures. The product is suitable for patients of all ages, with varying bone quality. Smith+Nephew plans to showcase the EVOS PELVIC System at their booth during the Orthopaedic Trauma Association Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, from today through Thursday. The company operates in roughly 100 countries, with $6.2 billion in annual sales in 2025.
