Hyundai Unveils All-New Tucson

Hyundai has unveiled the fifth-generation Tucson, a compact SUV that undergoes its biggest overhaul in six years. The new model features a larger and boxier exterior, with a 60 mm increase in length, 40 mm in width, 20 mm in height, and 30 mm in wheelbase. Hyundai's new design language, "Art of Steel," replaces the previous generation's sharp creases and geometric bodywork with a straighter, squarer, and more upright appearance.

The company has introduced four new exterior colors, including five new finishes. Inside, Hyundai has significantly redesigned the cabin, replacing the flowing dashboard with a straighter, more horizontal layout featuring a large portrait-oriented touchscreen and new Pleos infotainment system. The SUV also gets a new squared-off two-spoke steering wheel and a floating center console, giving the cabin a more open appearance.

The XRT trim continues to receive a more rugged appearance, featuring a larger grille, black detailing, and wheel-arch cladding, as well as black wheels, a dedicated bumper and skid plate, and XRT-specific badges. Electrification is a major focus for the fifth-generation Tucson, with a confirmed 1.6-liter turbo hybrid powertrain as the core global powertrain.

A plug-in hybrid version is also planned, targeting around 100 km of electric-only range. Hyundai has not yet disclosed final power figures, the plug-in hybrid battery capacity, charging specifications, or the availability of a gasoline engine. The new Tucson is expected to launch in Q4 2026, starting with South Korea before a broader international rollout in 2027. Pricing and exact launch dates for most markets remain unconfirmed.
