Saudi foreign minister co-chairs high-level meeting on Palestinian peace process in New York

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan co-chaired a significant high-level meeting on Palestine in New York, alongside France, the United Kingdom, and Canada. The gathering was focused on the progress made since the New York Declaration and the comprehensive 20-point Peace Plan for Gaza, which was established one year prior.

Prince Faisal expressed his gratitude for the actions taken by France, the UK, Canada, and an increasing number of nations in acknowledging the State of Palestine. He urged those countries yet to recognize Palestine to take this step. Prince Faisal underscored the importance of addressing settlement expansion, settler violence, and annexation policies, while safeguarding Jerusalem's historical and legal status quo. He also denounced violence, hatred, and incitement from all parties involved.

Turning to the Gaza Strip, Prince Faisal advocated for the full and immediate implementation of the US President Donald Trump's comprehensive plan to resolve the conflict. This plan aims to ensure unrestricted access to aid and the eventual unification of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank under the Palestinian National Authority.

Prince Faisal stressed that security should be built upon mutual interests rather than compromising the interests of any party. He emphasized that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and the end of the occupation are vital components of regional security and stability.

The Saudi Foreign Minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's dedication to attaining a comprehensive, just, and enduring peace, in line with the Arab Peace Initiative, relevant UN resolutions, and the New York Declaration.
