Russia is mapping everyday targets across Kyiv, from trolleybus depots to Zhuliany airport, top monitoring channel says, ahead of next ballistic strike

Ukrainian monitoring channel Nikolaievsky Vaniok reports that Russia has been mapping potential targets within Kyiv and the surrounding region, according to a national-security official. These targets include power substations, railways, hypermarkets, and airports such as Zhuliany airport. The pattern of targeting Ukraine's power and civilian infrastructure, particularly as winter approaches, is consistent with Russia's tactics in the war.

Andrii Kovalenko, head of the National Security Council's Center for Countering Disinformation, confirms that Russia is preparing a ballistic strike, with preparations clearly visible. However, intercepting ballistic missiles remains a significant challenge for Ukraine's air defenses. In a recent attack on Kyiv's water system, none of Russia's ballistic missiles were intercepted. The monitoring channel suggests that Ukraine should remain vigilant in the coming days.
