The team fell 7-2 to the Arizona Diamondbacks, behind the pitching of Nolan Arenado and Michael Soroka. It was the first time since the New York Mets went through the same ordeal in 1962-65 that a club endured four consecutive seasons with 100 losses or more.

Despite having a winning streak earlier in the season, the Rockies have been struggling, with a major league-worst record of 220-423 since the start of the 2023 season. The team's ERA of 5.57, the highest in the majors since 2022, has been a recurring issue.
