Amy Poehler Can’t Stop Cackling Over ‘SNL’ Star Ashley Padilla’s Arrest Story: ‘I Love That’

Amy Poehler found herself laughing uncontrollably as "Saturday Night Live" star Ashley Padilla recounted her teenage arrest. On Tuesday’s episode of "Good Hang with Amy Poehler," Padilla admitted to being a "bad girl" in her younger years. Poehler asked, "Tell me more. What do you mean? How did you get in trouble?" Padilla simply replied, "Arrested."

This revelation appeared to catch Poehler off guard, as she exclaimed, "No! Finally, we got to it." Padilla shared that she was booked for "obstruction of justice" and "resisting arrest." Poehler praised Padilla for her cool demeanor, recalling Padilla's admission that her mother pulled up to the police car in her boyfriend's truck, looking on with disapproval as Padilla was cuffed.

Padilla detailed how she hid in a rose bush for four hours after leaving a party near a recent hit-and-run before being apprehended. She recounted the cop writing "It’s about time you motherf–kers caught me" in the police report. Padilla, still laughing at her own story, admitted to herself that she was trying to come across as "cocky" when arrested.

Poehler related to Padilla's nervousness and doubled-down attitude, saying, "I love that. You doubled down 'cause you were like, nervous. And you were like, 'I'm going to go extra cocky.'" Regarding the outcome of her arrest, Padilla revealed that she was able to have it removed from her record through court-ordered therapy with her mother. Poehler expressed shock at this development, saying, "That's punishment for her."
