Red Bull retain Hadjar for 2027 season

French rookie Isack Hadjar is to continue his partnership with Red Bull for the 2027 Formula One season. The 21-year-old Frenchman was promoted to the senior team this year after his rookie campaign with Racing Bulls and has consistently performed close to team-mate Max Verstappen. Hadjar's best finish this season was a third-place finish at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies expressed satisfaction with Hadjar's performance, stating that the decision was easy due to Hadjar's excellence both on and off the track. Hadjar returned to the team after missing three races due to a broken wrist, sustained in a training session involving boxing. The team believes in his potential and looks forward to seeing his progress over the next season.

Hadjar, who came to Red Bull eight months ago, praised the organization and its talented team members. He expressed his excitement to learn and grow alongside Verstappen, a four-time world champion. Throughout the first half of the season, Hadjar was, on average, 0.239 seconds slower than Verstappen in qualifying but managed to out-qualify him three times. Verstappen recently extended his contract with Red Bull until the end of 2030.
