Reckitt appoints Ujunwa Chukwumah as General Manager, West Africa

Reckitt, a global health and hygiene leader, has appointed Ujunwa Chukwumah as their General Manager for West Africa, starting September 15, 2026. Ujunwa boasts over 19 years of commercial and leadership experience across Africa, including in commercial strategy, business transformation, market development, and team leadership. As the first Nigerian and female to hold this position in the region, her appointment signifies a significant milestone.

Prior to joining Reckitt, Ujunwa held senior leadership roles at Diageo and Procter & Gamble, most recently as Commercial Director for West and Central Africa at Diageo. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong track record in driving commercial performance, developing teams, and building relationships with customers and partners in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.

In her new role, Ujunwa will lead Reckitt's West Africa business, focusing on commercial performance, sustainable growth, and building organizational capabilities. She aims to develop Reckitt's brands to meet evolving consumer needs while ensuring better health in more hands across West Africa. Ujunwa's appointment highlights Reckitt's commitment to strong leadership and long-term ambitions in Nigeria, Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire, and other West African markets.
