Queens of the Stone Age Unveil New Song “Where the Goth Girls At?”: Stream

Queens of the Stone Age have revealed their new track, "Where the Goth Girls At?", as part of their forthcoming album, Perfecth, which is due for release on October 30th. The song is preceded by the singles "Easy Street" and "Insignificant Other" and showcases frontman Josh Homme reminiscing about his youth in Palm Desert, California.

Homme explains that witnessing goth girls working at JCPenney and giving makeover hairdos to elderly ladies inspired him to declare, "That's when I knew the only place I want to be is where the goth girls at." He adds, "Teenage love, ain't it grand?"

Consequence had the opportunity to speak with Homme about the song, specifically the line "Never felt so alive since the day I almost died," and its connection to his near-death experiences, including a boating accident he had at the age of 12 in Idaho. Homme shared that everyone experiences either near-life or near-death encounters in their lives, and after such incidents, there is a sense of euphoria. He recounted how after his near-drowning experience, he found food and sunsets exceptionally delightful.

Accompanying the single is a music video directed by Christopher Gruse and Tony Wolski, featuring comedian Steve Agee, dancer/artist Scarlett Kapella, and singer/actress Lou Lou Safran, along with Homme and other members of Queens of the Stone Age. The band will continue to tour in support of Foo Fighters on a North American stadium tour and will also perform at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento, a one-off show in Iceland, followed by tours of Japan and Australia/New Zealand to conclude the year.
