PITB receives over 21,700 applications

LAHORE: The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has received more than 21,700 applications since its Global IT Certifications Programme began in September 2024, as revealed at a recent review meeting chaired by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf. Senior officials, including PITB DG e-Governance Sajid Latif and Director Skills Development Wing Chaudhary Ahmad Islam, attended the gathering.

According to the update, over 12,000 applicants have been confirmed eligible via the PITB's online portal, with payment verification completed for more than 1,600 individuals. The reimbursement process for fees is also in progress, having been finalized for over 1,400 applicants who hold international certifications. Notably, 1,018 candidates who have completed their certifications have already received their full course fee reimbursements directly to their bank accounts.

The Global IT Certifications Programme, a flagship project of the Punjab government, aims to provide young people with globally recognized digital skills. Speaking at the meeting, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasized that the program's primary goal is to equip youth with internationally recognized digital skills. He added that due to the strong interest from youth and the increasing demands of the IT industry, the program's scope has been expanded to encompass 125 globally recognized certifications.
