Passports Directorate stipulates conditions to issue final exit for domestic workers during probationary period

The Saudi General Directorate of Passports has introduced conditions for employers to issue final exit visas for domestic workers without residency permits, according to a report from Geneva. This process is facilitated through the Absher platform during the 90-day probationary period. The conditions stipulated by the directorate require the worker not to be registered as deceased, absent from work, or to leave Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, the worker must maintain a clean traffic record and have a passport valid for at least 60 days. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development requires a written contract between the employer and the domestic worker, placing the latter on probation for up to 90 days. Employers can verify the worker's professional competence and personal conduct during this period.

Both parties have the right to terminate the contract during the probationary period. A domestic worker cannot be placed on probation more than once with the same employer unless both parties agree to a different job.
