Nigerian cleric flees after body found buried in Cameroon church

A Nigerian cleric, Kedi Samuel Kenechukwu, is being sought by Cameroonian authorities for alleged crimes such as human trafficking, arrest, and kidnapping. Kenechukwu, also known as Ekedi Samuel, is the founder of Mercy of God Ministry and has been operating in Cameroon since 2018. On September 19, the body of a woman, dressed in a traditional blue outfit with gold embroidery, was discovered buried about 1.5 meters beneath a concrete slab at a property linked to his church in Yaoundé.

The discovery was made by officers of the Nkoabang Special Police Station during an ongoing investigation. The body was found in a state of mummification, with the lid of the coffin broken. The investigation into Kenechukwu's activities and the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body is ongoing, with authorities alerting border police and involving Interpol to locate the wanted cleric.
