New venues and regional events broaden Qatar’s tourism offering

Qatar’s tourism sector is set to broaden its horizons with the addition of new venues and regional events to the country’s 2026/2027 events calendar. Ahmed Al-Binali, Director of Festivals and Events at Visit Qatar, revealed that different regions across the nation will play a pivotal role in showcasing the country’s diverse cultural and geographical landscapes.

The Qatar International Food Festival, for instance, will once again take place in Lusail City, further emphasizing the nation’s culinary diversity. In addition to this, new events and activities have been scheduled in Brouq in western Qatar and Doha Outdoors towards the end of the year. Al-Binali emphasized that this expansion aims to present an integrated image of Qatar’s cultural and geographical diversity, uniting the efforts of government bodies, cultural organizations, and private sector entities.

The move aligns with Visit Qatar’s recent launch of a winter campaign, titled "A World of Events in Qatar," which aims to attract visitors to Qatar during the winter season. The campaign highlights a variety of experiences beyond traditional sporting and entertainment venues, including sporting events, concerts, desert experiences, and outdoor activities.

The campaign encourages prospective visitors to explore Qatar during the winter months, showcasing the vast range of events and experiences available throughout the country.
