New Assemblies of God leaders assume office

The General Council of Assemblies of God, Ghana recently inaugurated new leaders for its Executive Presbytery and National Departmental Directors and Coordinators. This marked the culmination of a four-day Leadership Prayer and Orientation Retreat held at the Assemblies of God Headquarters in Accra. General Superintendent Rev Stephen Yenusom Wengam, who was re-elected to his position, addressed the new church officials, urging them to champion the church's Transformation Agenda.

This Agenda is designed to spread the word of God throughout Ghana, specifically targeting villages, towns, and cities. It also seeks to improve the welfare of pastors, especially those in rural areas, and to foster significant development in human resources and infrastructure. Wengam emphasized the importance for church leaders to remain fully committed to Christ, leadership, and the doctrines and constitution of the Assemblies of God, Ghana.

The new officers include Rev Kwadwo Boateng Bempah as Assistant General Superintendent, Rev Albert Anane as General Secretary, Rev Esther Dwommoh as National Women’s Ministry Director, Rev Aaron Fant as Home Missions Director, and Rev Boniface Keelson as Foreign Missions Director. They were congratulated by Wengam during the ceremony.

Other speakers included outgoing General Secretary Rev Ernest Birikorang and outgoing Assistant General Superintendent Rev Godwin Tito Agyei. The ceremony also featured discussions on the Metaphor of the Head, Loyalty as the Key Ingredient to Successful Leadership, and Wisdom for Leaders.
