Monroe’s Cunningham tops Section Five Best

Pooty Cunningham led the Section Five with a standout performance this past week. The Monroe quarterback achieved a historic milestone by breaking the all-time Section Five passing TD record with his 77th touchdown last Friday. His 78th touchdown came in the fourth quarter, securing a victory for Monroe against East High, two of New York State's top ten teams.

Aliysiah Clark from Marcus Whitman also made an impressive impact on the field. In just two games, the wide receiver delivered a powerful performance with six touchdowns and four assists. Both games resulted in wins for the Wildcats.

Pittsford's Jesse Jablonsky played a pivotal role in a thrilling win. He contributed 8 receptions for 150 yards and scored two touchdowns. Additionally, Jablonsky executed a crucial kickoff return for a touchdown and made an interception. Shay Hepler led a surprising upset victory for Geneseo/Mount Morris over Avon, scoring 11 catches for 106 yards and three touchdowns with the last one coming just 20 seconds into the game's final minute. Hepler then secured the winning two-point conversion.

Audrey Hogan from Mercy/East Rochester showcased her incredible stamina by scoring two goals and providing three assists in three field hockey games. Moreover, she showcased her golf skills by excelling in four matches for Mercy, claiming first place in two of them.
