Klopp makes no promises on silverware ahead of Germany debut

Germany’s new coach Jurgen Klopp urged his players to rise above themselves and harness the power of collective effort ahead of their crucial match against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Thursday. The team is still reeling from a third consecutive early exit from the World Cup, having been eliminated by Paraguay in the last 32.

Klopp, previously at Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund, often championed the idea of developing a system that would enable a team to triumph over its opponents through exceptional individual players. He noted that exceptional performances by individual players within the national team were rare. Klopp, who joined Germany in the summer, had the advantage of an outsider's perspective as well as insider knowledge of the team's operations.

He emphasized that the squad needed to come together to achieve success. Despite the perception that players might not prioritize international performances, Klopp assured that they deeply care about doing well. He highlighted Marc-Andre ter Stegen's inclusion in the squad and expressed his excitement about playing alongside former Barcelona teammate Xavi, who will coach the Netherlands for the first time.
