Joey Logano Makes Humorous Remark About Recent Hot Streak

Joey Logano, the No. 22 driver, has experienced a significant resurgence in the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season. Previously sitting at 20th in the standings after the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway, Logano secured wins at North Wilkesboro and later at Richmond and Bristol. With seven races remaining in the Chase, Logano finds himself third in the standings, just 16 points behind leader Kyle Larson.

During a post-race press conference at Bristol, Logano playfully suggested that NASCAR might need to reconsider the points format. Reflecting on his recent success, Logano emphasized the importance of seizing opportunities and capitalizing on favorable conditions at various tracks. He recalled a time when he doubted his chances of making the Chase after a difficult first half of the season, but he remains determined to stay in contention.

With three championship wins under the previous win-and-you're-in format, Logano now shares NASCAR’s all-time wins list with Mark Martin, the most of any driver. Tying Martin for 20th on the list, Logano also shares the second-most wins among active drivers, trailing only Denny Hamlin, and holds the most championships among active drivers with three.
