Analysts warn that the component parties of PN risk losing time if the registration of PN is canceled. During the run-up to the PRN Melaka, the status of PN could undermine the confidence of all stakeholders in the coalition, as it needs to safeguard the interests of all component parties in the rung-general and political cooperation.

Ahmad Zaharuddin Sani Ahmad Sabri noted that even though the notice from the Malaysian Union of Associations (JPPM) does not imply PN's cancellation, the question of the existence of a coalition is enough to shake confidence in its strength. PN should enter the race with a structure, but today, that structure is being questioned, says a Global Asia Consulting analyst.

Zaharuddin predicts that without PN, each party will have to re-evaluate its name and strength in separate confrontations. Former chairmen, who could have been resolved at the coalition table, may turn into competition among themselves, he added. Another possibility is that if the status of PN ends or fails to function normally, PAS and Umno could move through a two-way formula without PN as their main umbrella.

However, who will safeguard the interests of the existing vision with PAS's support, asks Zaharuddin. With the cancellation of PN's formation, the question of its name becomes a follow-up to its registration cancellation, according to Sinar Harian's report. Earlier, it reported a viral notice dated 22 Sept, allegedly from JPPM, which gave PN President Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar 30 days to present a representation to the JPPM.

It also claims a written order has been issued to suspend all activities under the name of PN. Bersatu Setiausaha Azmin Ali said Bersatu accepted a copy of the JPPM letter to PN this afternoon. Mazlan Ali from the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) said component parties of PN would lose the momentum if PN's registration is canceled.

Outside of SG4 (Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu), PAS's flag is found to be less attractive to the non-Malay majority. What form of contestation will emerge? Will they use the name of the moon?
