Israeli forces shoot dead Palestinian west of Ramallah

A pregnant Palestinian detainee, Abu Khdeijeh, is enduring severe health, humanitarian, and psychological conditions within Israel's Damon prison, according to a report by the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs. The commission's findings detail the alarming circumstances under which Abu Khdeijeh has been held since 27 August 2026.

Upon her arrest, she was subjected to a traumatic experience. Abu Khdeijeh was blindfolded and her hands were restrained with plastic bindings that caused swelling. She was then transported to an undisclosed location, where Israeli soldiers conducted a strip search on her and restrained her to a chair with handcuffs. This incident was accompanied by shouting and verbal abuse, contributing to her distress.

Abu Khdeijeh's detention has been marked by severe physical and emotional suffering. She began experiencing abdominal pain during her detention, which quickly escalated into bleeding. This heightened her fear and concern for her unborn child's well-being. Throughout her detention, Abu Khdeijeh has been denied basic necessities such as adequate food and water, as well as access to showering facilities.
