Hope Foundation, Long Chau launch cancer treatment support program

Hope Foundation and Long Chau have launched a new program to support cancer patients financially. The initiative, called "Sharing the Burden for Cancer Patients," aims to help patients cover treatment costs and provide assistance to those facing financial difficulties. Many cancer patients in Vietnam struggle with financial strain, with 91.8% experiencing hardship according to a 2024 study.

Patients may need to borrow money or use savings to pay for treatment and related expenses like travel and accommodation. To support patients, Long Chau connects pharmaceutical companies and provides a platform for joint support. Hope Foundation reviews urgent applications from patients and verifies cases with hospitals, offering assistance based on set criteria.

Supporters can contribute by converting reward points into donations. The program's transparency ensures real-time updates on contributions. Long Chau's CEO, Nguyen Do Quyen, emphasized the company's commitment to connecting partners and the community with those in need, stating that every contribution, regardless of size, brings value and eases pressure during tough times.

The program builds on previous humanitarian efforts by Long Chau and Hope Foundation, including the Long Chau Shares program and the "Long Chau Shares – Standing with Little Warriors" project, which raised funds to support treatment costs for children with cancer or congenital heart disease.
