GPS disruptions hit some Embraer aircraft, including E2 jets

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer announced on Tuesday that it has received reports of GPS system instability affecting certain aircraft types, including its E2 family. The company is actively monitoring the situation and working closely with operators and the equipment manufacturer to provide technical support and address the issue.

Embraer reassured that the occurrence may impact airlines' operational schedules but does not pose a threat to flight safety. The global fleet of E2 aircraft is equipped with navigation systems and procedures that enable them to operate even in conditions of GPS system instability.

Honeywell Aerospace, which supplies equipment to affected aircraft, confirmed awareness of an issue affecting aircraft worldwide due to GPS signal reception problems. Their teams are diligently assessing the matter to determine the root cause. Brazilian airline Azul reported that instability has impacted the operation of its E2 fleet.

In response, Azul is implementing operational measures that may lead to adjustments in its route network and flight schedules. Flight-tracking service Flightradar24 reported on Wednesday that Azul's E2 aircraft are now back in operation after the issue was resolved.
