Dutch economy grew by 0.6% in Q2, faster than initially thought

The Dutch economy expanded by 0.6% in the second quarter of 2026, surpassing the initial estimate from the national statistical agency CBS. Higher export volumes and increased household spending were cited as the primary drivers behind this revision. The more in-depth assessment, released approximately 85 days after the quarter's conclusion, revealed an annual GDP growth of 1.6%, marking the quickest growth rate since the first quarter of 2025.

This figure had been previously revised upwards from an initial projection of 1.3%. The labor market also showed improvement, with 15,000 new employees and freelance workers added in the second quarter, contrary to the initial report's claim of an 8,000 job decrease.
