Will Cristiano Ronaldo fulfil his dream of playing alongside his son at Al Nassr?

Every few weeks, videos of Cristiano Junior, the 16-year-old son of superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, scoring goals for Al Nassr's youth team surface, sparking speculation about Ronaldo fulfilling a lifelong dream of playing alongside his eldest son before retiring. In a Vogue interview last month, Ronaldo expressed that this could very well be his final season, as he is set to leave Al Nassr after completing his contract next summer.

With his current tally of 979 goals, Ronaldo is on track to achieve his goal of reaching 1,000 career goals. However, another significant milestone on his radar is playing with his son. Currently at 979 goals, Ronaldo is slightly behind his usual targets but aims to make up for it during the international break, in which Portugal plays four games against Norway, Wales, and Denmark. With a world record of 146 international goals, Ronaldo is set to maintain his form under new coach Jorge Jesus.

Junior, who has scored three times in nine caps for Portugal's U15 and U16 teams, is expected to be promoted to the U17 squad for upcoming matches in November. Standing at 1.9 meters, he is as tall as his father and has been seen recreating his brother's celebratory dance after scoring a brace against Al Ahli for Al Nassr's U17 side.

Junior is reportedly close to breaking into the first team, meaning it's likely he will share the pitch with his father before the season concludes. Although Al Nassr is currently struggling, Junior's continued success could warrant a promotion on merit. However, if he doesn't, Ronaldo might be given a farewell by the club he led to the Pro League title in the 2025/26 season. In that case, it's almost certain that his son will be there to support him.
