BHIM MyUPI brings 9 UPI services into one AI assistant
BHIM MyUPI lets users track transactions, manage Autopay mandates, raise complaints and check fraud risks through a conversational assistant inside the BHIM app.
UPI support is now accessible through a chat window in the BHIM MyUPI AI assistant. Launched at Global Fintech Fest 2026, the service consolidates nine UPI-related functions within the BHIM Payments App. MyUPI offers 24/7 assistance in multiple languages, enabling users to check transactions, report issues, manage mandates, and access safety tools without switching between multiple screens or support channels.
Currently available in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Bengali, additional regional languages are planned. MyUPI allows users to view UPI transactions across linked bank accounts and UPI apps, select transactions for assistance, raise payment complaints, and track their status within the app. A unique feature, Transaction Replay, enables users to re-initiate eligible earlier UPI payments, such as Peer-to-Peer and Peer-to-Merchant transactions, which were originally made through another UPI app.
Users can also manage Recurring payments by viewing mandate details and taking actions like pausing, resuming, or canceling them. MyUPI includes a safety tool called Pay Safe, which allows users to verify the payee name before making a payment by entering a UPI ID or uploading a QR code. The Safety Switch feature enables users to block a linked bank account to prevent further transactions in case of a lost phone, compromised account, unexpected debit, or suspicious message.
The assistant can also answer queries about suspected scam messages and common UPI fraud methods. Despite the conversational interface simplifying UPI support, payment actions still require authentication through the user's UPI PIN, ensuring that the conversational interface does not replace the existing payment authorization process.
MyUPI is currently accessible through the Quick Actions section of the BHIM Payments App, providing users with consolidated transaction information, complaint resolution, mandate management, and safety controls in a single interface. Lalitha Nataraj, Managing Director and CEO of NPCI BHIM Services Limited, stated that MyUPI aims to add a "proactive trust layer" to BHIM, making it easier for users to seek information, resolve concerns, and take action with greater clarity.
The true test for MyUPI will be determining if the conversational layer can enhance users' understanding of UPI when payment issues arise, mandates need attention, or suspicious activities occur.
