Avalara, a leader in AI-driven global tax and compliance solutions, has introduced Avalara Aviator, an agent hub designed to streamline complex tax and compliance workflows. At the company's CRUSH conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Avalara unveiled the new platform that aims to transform days of manual work into minutes of oversight.

The hub integrates specialized AI agents, tax and compliance workflows, and Avalara's trusted technology to create a connected system that bridges gaps between individual compliance tasks, such as calculating taxes, filing returns, and managing exemption certificates. Users interact with the system through Avi, an orchestrator AI agent that can handle tasks like mapping products to tax codes, reporting transaction and tax liability data, validating exemption certificates, auto-generating tax matrices, analyzing results across multiple applications, and configuring custom rules.

For instance, a customer can instruct Avi to create a tax rule in plain language, and Avi will draft the rule, simulate its impact, and flag any conflicts. The customer then reviews and approves the change before Avi activates it. Avalara Aviator is being rolled out to existing customers at no extra cost, with plans to expand agentic capabilities across more compliance processes and into ERP, e-commerce, finance, and collaboration platforms. The company aims to make its trusted tax and compliance platform accessible wherever work occurs.
