ArXiv receives multiyear commitments to support it as an independent nonprofit

ArXiv has announced it has received multiyear commitments from Simons Foundation International, XTX Markets, and Siegel Family Endowment to support it as an independent nonprofit organization. The $17.2 million investment will span three to five years and will help strengthen arXiv's technical infrastructure, support ongoing operations, and improve services for researchers worldwide.

For 35 years, arXiv has been a trusted platform for researchers to share and access scientific findings, serving millions of users annually and playing a crucial role in scholarly communication across various scientific fields. The new commitments build on previous philanthropic support for arXiv and will be used for building and growing the organization as an independent nonprofit entity.
