2027: Adelabu’s aide leads thousands of APC members to join APM in Oyo

In Oyo State, a significant number of All Progressives Congress (APC) members have recently defected to join the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). The defections were announced on Monday at Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, with the participants hailing from various local government areas across the state. According to DAILY POST, the former APC members were guided by Mr. Ajiboye Sangogade, a Personal Assistant to the former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.

Adelabu, an Ibadan native, had unsuccessfully contested the recent APC gubernatorial primary election. Sangogade and his supporters vowed to support the success of the APM in the 2027 elections.

Upon their arrival, the former APC members were warmly welcomed by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and other prominent APM chieftains. During his address, Governor Makinde urged the former APC candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, to shift his focus to contesting against APM's Bimbo Adekanmbi in the 2027 gubernatorial election.

The governor confidently stated his intention to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming presidential election and advised the APC candidate to refrain from criticizing his administration. Governor Makinde expressed his belief in a triumphant future, stating that "God has signed off on what we are doing," and that their victory was imminent. He confidently announced that the APC would achieve massive success in all elections in 2027.
