World : Indian High Commission Warns Against Misuse Of Malaysia’s Visa-Free Facility For Jobs

The Indian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has issued a stern warning to Indian nationals against using Malaysia's 30-day visa-free facility for employment purposes. This advisory comes in response to a surge in arrivals of individuals lured by fraudulent job offers. The high commission, through its official X account, emphasized that the visa-free facility, intended exclusively for tourism and social visits, should not be exploited for job-seeking activities, as this constitutes a violation of Malaysian immigration laws.

The Indian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has cautioned Indian citizens planning to travel to Malaysia that the 30-day visa-free entry is exclusively for tourism and social visits, not employment. Numerous Indian nationals have fallen prey to deceitful agents offering false job prospects, resulting in overstays, illegal immigration status, exploitation, detention, and subsequent legal consequences, the high commission cautioned.

The Indian High Commission reiterated that Indian nationals should not seek employment in Malaysia without a valid work permit or visa, citing reference (VDR). Genuine tourists are advised to carry essential documents such as a confirmed return ticket, hotel booking, the completed Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) submitted online three days prior to arrival, and a passport with a minimum of six months' validity to avoid any immigration issues upon arrival in Malaysia.
