What I learned after 30 days with the Pixel 11 [Video]

It has been nearly 30 days since Google officially unveiled the Pixel 11 lineup, and the 11 may be the most sensible device among them. Here's what I have discovered after using it for a full month post-launch. For additional video content, subscribe to 9to5Google on YouTube.

The Pixel 11 design is hard to be annoyed about, but one may experience boredom after a while. If you haven't used the Pixel 9 or Pixel 10, you probably won't notice much difference. I am not alone in loving the Pixel design, but it can feel repetitive after a while.

I have found that a case has become more important than ever after using the Pixel 11 for a month. The flatter camera visor is one of the few "big" changes that feels more consequential. A boxier shape, similar to the Pixel 10a, but with a case, can achieve a similar look. The NFC chip moving closer to the top edge has resulted in fewer clashes against terminals or turnstiles, and wireless payments are now faster or feel more accurate.

The stronger Pixelsnap magnets are a welcome addition, as they give confidence that accessories will stick, which is particularly important due to the slippery, glossy finish on the back glass. However, the phone's hollow sound when tapped can feel cheap, despite its great frame and mass. These are minor nitpicks, but they do matter to me.

In terms of design, the Pixel 11 builds upon what was good. The good news is that there is very little bad. Google's display brightness changes may not come, but there is little doubt that the modem has been improved, and the main sensor is now a proper one, rather than an A-series sensor. The quality jump gives confidence for every eventuality, and I hope for improved ultrawide and telephoto hardware next year.

The camera is my most used function across every facet of the Pixel 11. I have switched to using the "Shadows" look as my default setting, and I am being more picky about what photos I'm taking with this phone. My only issue is that the recipes you can create would be great if saved for specific circumstances. Overall, the Pixel 11 is a solid device that offers good consistency and quality for its price bracket.
