Vote for the Detroit Free Press Girls Athlete of the Week

The Detroit Free Press is inviting readers to vote for the Girls Athlete of the Week. This week's poll highlights three remarkable athletes – two from volleyball and one from field hockey – who delivered outstanding performances between September 14 and 20. Voting concludes at 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 24.

The nominees are presented in alphabetical order by last name: Kaelyn Easton from Farmington Hills Mercy volleyball, Audrey Koory from Birmingham United field hockey, and Leah McCulloch from Bishop Foley volleyball. Kaelyn Easton demonstrated her leadership by setting the pace for Mercy in a 3-1 victory over Orchard Lake St. Mary's on September 16.

She delivered an impressive 36 assists and 10 digs during the game. Audrey Koory was instrumental in Birmingham United's victories against Grand Blanc and West Bloomfield, scoring six goals across the two games. Leah McCulloch from Bishop Foley contributed significantly to her team's success, accumulating 48 kills, 33 service points, and 12 digs in six matches against Riverview Gabriel Richard, Warren Regina, Roseville, Ferndale, St. Clair Shores Lake Shore, and twice against St. Clair Shores Lake Shore.
