Trump renames AI 'super intelligence,' rejects international oversight

UNITED NATIONS — U.S. President Donald Trump declared that the American government would rebrand artificial intelligence as "super intelligence" in official communications, firmly opposing international oversight of the rapidly advancing technology. Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, Trump maintained that the term "artificial" did not do justice to the capabilities of AI and expressed optimism that other nations would embrace the new terminology.

He termed the rebranding as more accurate and fitting for the technology. The renaming follows a string of changes implemented by the Trump administration, such as renaming the Gulf of Mexico as "Gulf of America" and Lake Ontario as "Lake America." Trump has also toyed with the idea of renaming oceans.
