Police deny land-grabbing allegation against Rivers CP

The Rivers State Police Command has rejected allegations of land grabbing levied against Police Commissioner Olugbenga Adepoju. The command stated that the claims, made by the Rumuosi Council of Chiefs and locals in Obio/Akpor LGA, are false and misleading. Alleged land grabbing occurred at Victory Estate, Rumuosi, where protesters claimed the CP had colluded with land grabbers to evict them.

However, the command clarified that Adepoju's role was merely to provide security for a court bailiff executing a judgment. The command did not authorize physical involvement in the execution and promptly halted it when residents objected. They emphasized that the lawsuit pertained to land in Rumuagholu Community, not Victory Estate.

The police also warned officers against engaging in land-related matters without proper authorization.
