Palghar: Shiv Sena Leader Nilesh Sambare And Others Booked In Alleged ₹73.13 Lakh PWD Fund Diversion Case In Jawhar

Palghar police station has registered a case against Shiv Sena deputy leader and former Jijau Construction director, Nilesh Bhagwan Sambare, along with his business associates and former Jawhar PWD officials, for allegedly misappropriating government funds worth Rs 73,13,884. The alleged financial irregularity occurred between 2014-15 when seven projects - including road repairs, pothole filling, and gutter excavation - were awarded to Jijau Construction through a tender process.

After completion, the contractors submitted final bills for approval. However, it was found that the original contractors' names were removed from the official documents and Form No. 47, and the records were altered to falsely show that the work was done by M/s Jijau Construction. Consequently, the money was fraudulently transferred to a Bank of Maharashtra account on March 31, 2019.

The case involves multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including criminal breach of trust, cheating, forgery, falsification of accounts, criminal conspiracy, and acts done by several persons in furtherance of a common intention. The investigation is now under the supervision of a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
