Obi-led NDC govt will reintroduce fuel subsidy in ‘different form’ – Kwankwaso

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has revealed that an administration led by his party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, would reintroduce fuel subsidy, but in a different form. Speaking to Arise TV, Kwankwaso, a former Kano State governor, highlighted that the NDC would achieve this by investing in refineries to increase domestic production and make petrol available at a reasonable price.

He emphasized that the government could build refineries to ensure reasonable fuel prices across the country. Kwankwaso criticized President Bola Tinubu for removing the fuel subsidy immediately upon taking office, without considering the potential consequences, which led to a significant increase in fuel prices and the subsequent economic challenges.
