NPP may be invited to clarify alleged drug laboratories – Rashid Tanko-Computer

The Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the NDC, Rashid Tanko-Computer, has stated that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) members will be invited by security agencies to clarify their allegations of drug laboratories operating in Ghana. According to Tanko-Computer, the security agencies are taking note of the claims made by the NPP at its press conference and will seek further clarification from those who made them.

He emphasized that the NPP should provide detailed information about the alleged laboratories, including their locations and the individuals responsible for them. Tanko-Computer argued that if the NPP had intelligence on drug-related activities, they should submit the information to the appropriate security authorities instead of relying solely on a press conference. He also appealed to the National Security Secretariat and other relevant security agencies to engage with the NPP regarding the allegations.

The comments from Tanko-Computer come after NPP National Organiser Henry Nana Boakye claimed that clandestine laboratories had been established in Ghana to process narcotics for export. Tanko-Computer maintained that requesting information from the NPP should not be seen as a threat, stating that the government is seeking all available data to combat drug trafficking. He emphasized that they are the opposition, not the enemies, and their goal is the well-being of Ghana.
