Negeri Sembilan MB, exco to meet Tunku Nadzaruddin tomorrow

The meeting of Negeri Sembilan's Menteri Besar, Ismail Lasim, and his State Executive Council is set to take place tomorrow at 9am at the Tunku Ja’afar Gallery in Seremban. The meeting aims to serve as an "ice-breaking" session and to foster rapport between the Menteri Besar and his council members. The invitation implies the presence of the four purported undangs, Tunku Besar of Tampin, and the Shahbandar of Sungai Ujong.

Recently, the Negeri Sembilan executive council suspended Zafir Ibrahim and Muzalmah Mustapha Kamal from their roles as State Secretary and State Legal Adviser, respectively. Ismail Lasim announced the suspension during a special meeting of the state executive council. However, the situation regarding the state exco's status is unclear as the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan revoked the appointments of the members on Sunday.

Despite this, Ismail Lasim confirmed that all members of the Negeri Sembilan executive council continue in their positions.

Ismail Lasim has also disputed the Yang Dipertuan Besar's decision, arguing that the state ruler cannot terminate the tenure of an exco member without the Menteri Besar's advice or request. The members of the Negeri Sembilan executive council, who issued a statement on September 16 affirming Tunku Nadzaruddin's legitimacy, stand behind their decision. However, the state’s Dewan Keadilan dan Undang has declared that the exco's decision lacks legal effect and that Tunku Muhriz remains the legitimate Yang Dipertuan Besar.
