Negeri Sembilan exco suspends state secretary, legal adviser

In Negeri Sembilan, the state executive council unanimously suspended Zafir Ibrahim and Muzalmah Mustapha Kamal from their positions as state secretary and state legal adviser, respectively, effective immediately. Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim made the announcement following a special meeting of the state executive council. The notice of Zafir's suspension will be submitted to the Chief Secretary to the Government and the Public Service Department, while the notice of Muzalmah's suspension will be forwarded to the Attorney-General's Chambers.

This action followed the state administration's decision not to proceed with gazetting the proclamation regarding the removal of Tuanku Muhriz as Yang Dipertuan Besar, as the state secretary's office accepted the Attorney-General's Chambers' view on the matter. The state secretary's office had also referred the situation to the legal adviser to ensure compliance with the state's constitution and laws.
