Nebraska lands commitment from class of 2027 forward Dawson Battie

Nebraska basketball secured a commitment from 2027 four-star power forward Dawson Battie on Monday night, following an announcement on social media. Battie, who is ranked 27th overall in the 2027 class and third among power forwards and Texas players, chose Nebraska over offers from SMU, Stanford, and Kentucky. The prospect visited Lincoln three times and arrived in town on September 19.

Standing at six-foot-eight and weighing 215 pounds, Battie possesses a versatile skill set that includes scoring ability, rebounding, and strong defensive switching. His potential to create mismatches and distribute the ball aligns well with Fred Hoiberg's coaching style. This marks the second commitment for the Huskers in the 2028 recruiting class, following small forward Ty Schlagel. With this addition, Nebraska appears poised to contend in the Big Ten for years to come.
