NDC to inaugurate Peter Obi, Kwankwaso Presidential Campaign Council

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, has announced its plans to officially launch the Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, following extensive consultations with stakeholders throughout the nation. The announcement came in a statement released on Tuesday, signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, Esq. The statement confirmed that the party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, have convened meetings with the party's national leadership to determine the composition of the campaign council.

The presidential candidate and his vice were granted the authority to nominate key members of the council, including the Director-General, Deputy Director-General (North), Spokesman, Deputy Spokesperson, Head of New Media, Finance Director, Deputy Finance Director, and several other positions. The NDC's leadership has granted the presidential candidate and his running mate the freedom to make the necessary nominations, ensuring that the council is inclusive, cohesive, and geared towards securing a victory.

The Finance Director and his Deputy will be responsible for managing all campaign funds in a transparent and accountable manner, in line with the Electoral Act. A comprehensive organogram of the campaign structure has been prepared since August and made available to both candidates for their input. The party has also proposed a timetable for the campaign, which will be finalized once the inputs from the presidential candidate and his running mate are received.

The inauguration of the PCC was initially planned for the first week of September, but it has been postponed due to the presidential candidate's travel schedule. The NDC urges all its candidates at all levels to concentrate on winning the elections, emphasizing that there are no internal battles within the party. The party is committed to defeating the ruling APC and encourages its candidates and supporters to remain focused and dedicated to achieving their electoral goals.
