N. Korea's Kim calls for modernizing ideological tactics

SEOUL, September 22 (Yonhap) -- At the party's third workshop for officials in the information sector, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un emphasized the need to revamp the party's propaganda and ideological campaign, according to state media. During his closing remarks on Monday, Kim outlined principles and tasks for modernizing various aspects of ideological work, including contents, forms, methods, and means, as reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

Kim advocated for innovations in information and motivation work, as well as the creation of cultures that align with the times, the revolution, and the people. The four-day workshop focused on ideological education centered around Kim's revolutionary ideas, relics, and the leadership exploits of the party. Participants were encouraged to intensify the information and publicity offensive to motivate the masses to implement decisions from the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, adapting ideological work to individual sectors and units.

The workshop also covered fresh forms and methods of ideological work, realistic and appealing ways to conduct information work, and the use of visual aids in line with the party's policy. This marks the third such workshop since its 2022 inception, with Kim attending both the opening and closing ceremonies, delivering an address at each.
