Mother charged with murder after child stabbed to death

A mother has been charged with murder after her child was stabbed to death, according to police. The incident occurred in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, on Sunday. Passersby discovered the vehicle, where a woman and three children were found stabbed, on the side of a road around midday. Emergency services provided medical treatment to the woman and the two younger children, who remain in critical condition at Westmead and Westmead Children's hospitals.

The woman, aged 42, was charged with murder, domestic violence, and two counts of wounding with intent to murder - domestic violence during a bedside court hearing on Tuesday. She was denied bail and is set to appear before Penrith Local Court in November. Local Superintendent John Nelson stated that the father was at work when he received the news of the alleged attack. The woman had no prior police record.
