Jamui minor girl harassment case: All seven accused arrested; main accused shot in the leg during police encounter

In a significant development in the Jamui minor molestation case, the main accused, Nandan Yadav, was arrested following a police encounter on Tuesday. The incident involved the alleged molestation and assault of a minor girl and a teenage boy in the district of Jamui, Bihar. The case came to light after a viral video emerged on social media last Saturday, showing a group of men surrounding and assaulting the two minors while they were returning from coaching classes.

Nandan Yadav was among the seven suspects identified from the video. The Jamui Superintendent of Police, Vishwajit Dayal, stated that the case was registered at the cyber police station against those who circled the video on social media, revealing the identity of the minor victim. Among the arrested suspects, Hare Ram Yadav, another accused, also suffered a fractured leg during the police operation.

The police have launched a crackdown on those circulating the videos and have registered FIRs against individuals and social media platforms involved in the dissemination of the video.
