Mempaasem health facility ready for commissioning to ease pressure on Sene West District Hospital

The Mempaasem health facility, an ultramodern healthcare center in the Sene West District, is nearing completion and is set to ease the burden on the district hospital in Kwame Danso. The facility, with features including a delivery room, consultation rooms, and sanitation facilities, will cater to residents of Mempaasem, Kwame Danso Secondary School, Banyako, Dada, Kaleb, and surrounding areas.

The Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, expressed satisfaction with the facility's quality and speed of construction, noting that it is almost ready for commissioning. He specifically commended the furnishing and equipment supplied by the district assembly, which he found superior to those at other facilities he visited.

Francis Owusu Antwi emphasized the importance of the facility in implementing the President's free primary healthcare policy, which, according to him, is not fully realized in most government health facilities. The District Chief Executive for Sene West, Mr. Khaari Fuseini, explained that the absence of a government health facility in Mempaasem prompted the construction of this facility to ensure residents benefit from the free primary healthcare policy.

Once commissioned, the facility will be operated as a health centre, starting with medical personnel including a physician assistant, a midwife, curative and preventive nurses. The facility's construction was initiated to comply with the President's free primary healthcare policy, which mandates CHPS compounds, health centres, and polyclinics, but excludes district hospitals from this coverage.
