LG Energy Solution Joins NVIDIA’s DSX Ready Program

LG Energy Solution has secured a significant partnership with NVIDIA's DSX Ready program, becoming the only Korean battery manufacturer selected from three worldwide partners. The North American energy storage system (ESS) market is expanding rapidly due to the AI infrastructure boom, which is increasing electricity demand and causing greater fluctuations in power consumption at data centers.

To address this growing demand for power management solutions, LG Energy Solution plans to utilize its battery technology and local production capabilities. The company's JF2 AC Link, a modular energy storage solution featuring high-capacity lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, has been approved as a battery energy storage system (BESS) partner under NVIDIA's DSX Ready program.

This system offers a range of features, including the ability to charge or discharge rapidly to smooth power loads during periods of high or low electricity demand, and grid-forming capabilities that help maintain power stability during unstable electricity supply conditions. LG Energy Solution is also expanding its manufacturing and system integration capabilities in North America, aiming to reach over 50GWh of ESS production capacity by the end of the year.

This expansion, combined with its inclusion in NVIDIA's DSX Ready ecosystem, gives the company an opportunity to strengthen its position in the AI power infrastructure market. The rapid growth of AI data centers is creating a new demand for ESS, as high-performance AI servers require increasing amounts of electricity. LG Energy Solution has already secured major ESS projects in North America, including a 6GWh battery supply agreement with U.S. utility DTE Energy and a solar-plus-ESS project with Google and Cypress Creek Energy.

By offering both battery supply and system integration services, LG Energy Solution aims to provide a comprehensive power management solution to data center customers.
