On Tuesday, an Orang Asli man named Zamberi Angah, 42, was found dead believed to have been attacked by a stray bear while searching for timber in a forest area near Kampung Takung, Pos Perwor in Sungai Siput, Perak. His body was discovered at 6:58 pm in a swamp area close to a trail, about 200 meters away from the attack site, according to the Bernama news agency.

Zamberi was reportedly with a relative who entered the forest land in the protected area to gather timber. Rohaizimi Razali, Deputy Commissioner of Sungai Siput Police, confirmed receiving the incident report and stated that Perhilitan (Biodiversity Department) is currently searching for the involved bear. Today, the Perhilitan's wildlife unit will set up a bear trap between Kampung Takong and the Korbu Forest Reserve.

Meanwhile, Lintang Adun, Mohd Zolkafly Harun, in a Facebook post, advised the public to stay away from the area for now, remain vigilant, and follow all instructions from authorities. He was with his wife visiting the victim's family to pay condolences and offer a small contribution to help alleviate their burden.
