Jimmy Kimmel Roasts Trump and Mamdani’s Friendly Dynamic as the ‘Weirdest Buddy Road Trip Movie’

Jimmy Kimmel took aim at President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's friendly rapport, likening it to the plot of the "weirdest buddy road trip movie of all time." During the monologue on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Monday, the late-night host discussed the trio of press conferences held by the president and the mayor, which revolved around topics such as affordable housing, infrastructure, public safety and immigration.

Kimmel remarked, "This afternoon, Trump met for the third time with New York Mayor Mamdani. It was another friendly meeting between the socialist who wants to give everyone $5,000 and the mayor of New York." The host then playfully quipped that Trump harbored a fondness for Mamdani, noting that while Trump may be known for his Islamophobia, he was at least not Islamohomophobic.

Kimmel also pointed out the president's recent controversial decision to ban Politico, CNN and MS NOW from the White House. He sarcastically commented, "Yeah. Why aren't these so-called journalists gushing over how well he's mishandling the war he said was over seven months ago? It’s just not right." Kimmel then praised Mamdani for inviting all the press to the event and highlighted the stark differences between the two leaders.

He remarked, "And I have to say, you would think these two would get along about as well as a garbage disposal and a fork, but Trump really does seem to like Mamdani." The host added, "It's the weirdest buddy road trip movie of all time."
